Choral Connections Weekend – Malcolm Merriweather
As we close our 22nd season, Vocális welcomes home one of America’s most dynamic young conductors, Malcolm Merriweather. A native of Grand Island, NY, Malcolm is director of the New York Philharmonic Chorus and New York City’s The Dessoff Choirs; serves on the faculty of Brooklyn College; and is Artistic Director of “Voices of Haiti,” a 60-member children’s choir in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, operated by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
Community Sing and Conversation with Malcolm Merriweather
Meet Dr. Merriweather as he conducts you in a rehearsal of music by under-recognized composers; discusses the art of choral conducting; and dialogues on social justice, equity, and inclusion as they relate to the choral art. All in the community are invited, and music will be provided. Bring your voice, or just sit and listen. Join us for an inspiring evening. Free Admission.
